Interesting debate between Naomi Woolf and Jacklyn Friedman about rape allegations against Julian Assange. What do you think?

We are about to cross over. Tomorrow at 6:38 p.m., Eastern Standard Time, the Earth’s axis will be at maximum tilt, which means in the northern hemisphere, Tuesday will have the shortest day and the longest night of the year. So why not, very gently, give the sun a thank you kiss?

How? Watch artist Emilie Halpern do it here.

A couple of my friends Dominque Fishback, and Kristen Gonzalez made this film in school, at Pace University, in response to the death of DJ Henry. In case you don’t know, he was shot dead by cops, the actual reason why is in dispute. It’s an enlightening video that asks some interesting questions.

Subversive Intervention of the Day: Peter Miller’s “Yellow Card” is a magnetic note meant to be affixed to cars by cyclists who feel their lives were put in danger due to reckless driving.
Miller provides a PDF for people to print out and make their own.

I want a giant stack of these magnets. I feel like they’d be used up in a week tops.

ok i’m a cyclist and a driver and i feel like cyclists are just as aggressive as some drivers, don’t follow rules of the road, and expect drivers to anticipate the crazy shit that some cyclists pull.  no one should act innocent at this situation unless you never veer off the bike lane, never cut across the street, never ride through a red light, never ride down the opposite lane, etc. we need to share the road, not act like we’re the only ones entitled to it.

I made a porno for my Erotics class- but with no nudity and no sex.

“What began as an exploration of the limits of the body became a story of watching, listening, and allowing others in to witness. We explored other elements of eroticism in performance such as motion, rhythm, vitality, strength, sound, silence, transcendence of the limits between the self/other, voyeurism, intimacy, vulnerability, and imagination.

In class, we also recounted memories, told stories, read a poem, and honored our presence.”

This photo/film experiment is pretty astounding.
“Stills” (that actually move) are taken every couple of seconds to create this 20 armed moving human sculpture. MUST WATCH!

What my apartment lacks in size (current figures show it at 1.5x the size of a prison cell), it more than makes up for in Polaroid-y awesomeness.
Currently, there are just over 1000 up on the two walls.
Not bad, for a start.
